Pavement Repair Project To Close Northbound Lanes of Kansas Expressway
Between Kearney & Division in Springfield May 11-14
Springfield, Greene County- A pavement repair project will mean ‘round the clock lane closings in the northbound lanes of Kansas Expressway between Division and Kearney Streets in Springfield beginning Monday morning, May 11, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The work will begin after 9 a.m. Monday, May 11, and will continue until 5 a.m. Thursday, May 14.
Because one northbound lane of Kansas Expressway will be closed during the project, drivers can expect traffic delays especially during morning and afternoon rush hours.
Crews will cut out and remove deteriorating pavement. Once the pavement is removed, new concrete will be poured to make the repairs.
By working ‘round the clock, the work will be done much more quickly than doing the work during nighttime hours only.
Once the project is completed, crews will move south working on Kansas Expressway between Division Street and Chestnut Expressway.
Weather and/or scheduling delays will alter the work schedule.
