Southbound Route 65 Off Ramp to Battlefield Road

CLOSED Up to Two Weeks Beginning Friday, April 24

MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT 

Where: Southbound off ramp from Route 65 to Battlefield Road (ramp on northwest corner) in Springfield

When: Before morning rush hour on Friday, April 24, until Friday, May 8.  Ramp could reopen sooner than May 8.

What: Contractor crews tearing out existing ramp and replacing it with a wider ramp.  The work also includes building a new connection from the ramp to the new southbound auxiliary lane.

Traffic Impacts: Ramp will be CLOSED to all traffic.  Drivers are urged to use the signed detours.  East detour: Sunshine Street to Blackman Road to Battlefield Road.  West detour: Sunshine Street to Ingram Mill Road to Battlefield Road.

Project Summary:

• Replace Battlefield Road bridge over Route 65
• Convert interchange to a Diverging Diamond configuration
• Build northbound and southbound auxiliary lanes on Route 65 to connect Sunshine Street and Battlefield Road ramps
• Install new traffic signal at Battlefield Road and Woodstock Avenue

Completion Date: September 2015

Total Project Cost: $12.5 million.

Partnership Project: City of Springfield, Greene County, Ozarks Transportation Organization, Jack Henry & Associates, Justice Jewelers and McLean Enterprises, Inc.
